Sometimes I get queries from multiple clients for the same dates while I'm away fishing. This is especially true during the busy part of the season.
For that reason, I simply go with the first client to put down a deposit.
Because I work with a great group of guides, I can still cover most dates or even large parties; but I can only guarantee that I guide you myself if you're the first one to put up my retainer fee. So if you know your dates and are serious, please put down a deposit as soon as possible, as it prevents disappointment.
The deposit simply needs to be roughly 50 percent of a full or half day, or 33 percent of a multiple-day trip, ie, $300-500. See my rates page for details. I typically exclude equipment rental or overnight fees or other incidentals from deposit requests until we work out details.
Please list the dates you want on your payment form.
Clients are responsible for purchasing their own license, which they can do here on the New Zealand Fish and Game website. Fishing without a license can result in a hefty fine and the seizure of gear.
Paypal charges a transaction fee of 4 percent. www.Wise.com has lower transaction fees and better exchange rates. They charge about $6 per $1,000 and peg their exchange rate at mid-market rates.
